ClamAV-clamd av-scanner FAILED: Too many retries to talk to /var/run/clamav/clamd.ctl

(Can’t connect to UNIX socket /var/run/clamav/clamd.ctl)

Error di judul terjadi pada tanggal 16 April 2010 lalu, Hari Jumat. tepat ketika saya sedang ijin kantor untuk keperluan pribadi. Tanpa disangka, selepas shalat Jumat, HP berdering….. suara di seberang, rekan kerja, mengatakan bahwa mailserver down. Saya coba guide untuk check sana dan check sini, tetapi semua seems normal…. hanya ada error diatas dan email tidak dapat terkirim. Wah mesti ke kantor deh…..

Tepat pukul 16:30 saya tiba di kantor dan langsung check kondisi server, service yang mati dan service yang jalan. Ternyata error tersebut berasal dari sudah tidak disupportnya ClamAV yang kami gunakan. Kami menggunakan ClamAV versi 0.92 dan saat ini sudah ada versi 0.96. Wow sudah lama juga nih…. Ok setelah googling sana dan sini, akhirnya memang harus diupgrade deh ClamAVnya. Sebenernya sih agak ragu, tapi tidak ada pilihan lain.

Proses Upgrade

pada proses upgrade saya menjalankan beberapa langkah berikut :

1. Stop semua service/aplikasi yang berhubungan dengan ClamAV. Kalau di tempat saya yang saya stop : postfix, amavis, clamav.

2. Jalankan #apt-get update

3. Jalankan #apt-get install clamav clamav-daemon

Sampai di point 3 ini, kalau sukses berarti clamav sudah akan berubah versi. Bisa di cek menggunakan command # clamd -V. Kemudian coba dilihat pada log nya, jika pada log masih terdapat error

LibClamAV Error: cli_loaddb(): No supported database files found in
/var/lib/clamav/daily.inc
ERROR: Not supported data format

berarti masih ada kesalahan. Coba cek versi freshclam dengan menggunakan # freshclam -V  Kalau versinya berbeda dengan clamav maka harus jalankan step berikut ini :

4. Jalankan #apt-get install clamav-freshclam

5. Setelah itu, harus jalankan secara manual update definition dengan command # freshclam

6. Jangan lupa.. jalankan semua service yang sebelumnya di nonaktifkan.

OK sampai di situ, mestinya sudah tidak akan ada masalah lagi. Itu yang terjadi pada server saya. Dengan konfigurasi : LTS 6.06, Postfix, Amavis-new, clamav, postgrey.  Ok Semoga berguna.

Could not open the squirrelmail inbox

Seorang rekan di milis bertanya tentang error dibawah ini :

*ERROR: Could not complete request.*
Query: SELECT “INBOX”
Reason Given: Internal error occured. Refer to server log for more
information. [2008-09-18 12:49:45]

Saya pernah mengalami error yang sama, cuma sayangnya tidak saya catat apa solusinya pada saat itu. Tapi saya masih ingat betul akibat dari error tersebut, yaitu, ketika kita membuka inbox atau mailbox lain dari squirrelmail, akan muncul error tersebut. Oh iya saya menggunakan Ubuntu LTS 6.04, postfix, squirrelmail 1.4.13, Apache2, php5.

Setelah mengingat-ingat waktu itu apa saja yang diubah, akhirnya dapat juga. Ini dia yang diubah :

1. Buka File PHP.INI. Kalau punya saya adanya di /etc/php5/Apache2/php.ini

2. lalu lihat pada bagian Resources Limit

3. Cek memory_limit nya berapa MB ? kalau masih 8 M ubah menjadi 16 M atau menjadi 32M kalau 16 gak pengaruh.

4. restart Apache dengan command : #/etc/init.d/Apache2 restart

Setelah itu coba lagi deh buka squirrelmailnya dan akses ke mailbox yang failed to open tadi.

Membuat DVD Movie campur dengan Foto dengan Nero7

Akhir minggu lalu, ada seorang teman yang minta bantuan untuk dibuatkan DVD Mixed Mode yang artinya, 1 keping DVD berisi DVD movie dan Static Pictures, dan terdapat menu pilihan di awal memainkan DVD tersebut untuk pilihan Movie or Pictures. Pas diminta sih OK OK saja, karena saat itu saya masih berpikir, tidak ada menu pilihan di awal. Maklum ordernya by phone, jadi agak kurang jelas.

Untung saja waktu itu Hari Jumat dan gak ada direksi, jadi bisa dengan leluasa cari informasi by mbah google. Setelah pencarian kesana-kemari tidak menghasilkan data yang sama persis, akhirnya saya mencoba untuk trial & error sendiri. Berikut ini step by stepnya :

1. Saya menggunakan Nero Premium 7

2. Buka Aplikasi Nero dan pilih Nero Vision

3. Setelah pilih Nero Vision, kemudian pilih Make DVD — DVD Video

4.  Kemudian setelah jendela seperti di bawah ini terbuka, pilihlah Make Slide Show. Kenapa ? Kenapa tidak memilih Add Video ? Karena kalau anda memilih Add Video terlebih dahulu, anda akan kesulitan memasukkan gambar-gambar originalnya. Gambar original tersebut harus dimasukkan agar siapapun yang akan membuka video tersebut nanti, akan dapat meng-copy gambar2 originalnya tanpa harus capture dari photo slide show.

5.   Setelah itu akan muncul jendela seperti di bawah ini. Pada bagian kanan anda, masukkan foto2 yang akan di-insert nanti. Dengan cara, pilih icon browse dan select photos. Nah Semua foto sudah masuk ke bagian kanan jendela. Setelah itu, barulah anda masukkan ke project slide shownya dengan cara memilih tombol Add to Project. Foto-foto tersebut sekarang sudah ter-copy ke bagian bawah jendela. Jika gambar yang anda pilih lebih dari 99 gambar, maka akan ada beberapa pilihan pada screen menu nantinya. Setelah itu tinggal Next saja.

6. Setelah anda menekan tombol Next, akan kembali ke jendela pertama. Pada jendela ini, pilihlah Add : Original Pictures di bagian bawah. Fungsi dari memilih itu adalah, semua gambar yang pada langkah terdahulu dijadikan slide show, akan di-copy ke dalam folder tersendiri. Sehingga anda dapat meng-aksesnya nanti.

7.   Selesai anda lakukan itu, barulah anda dapat menambah Video files yang anda inginkan.

8.  Setelah itu tinggal di Next saja sampai muncul tombol perintah burn.
Setelah selesai proses burning dan anda jalankan di windows media player atau DVD player, yang pertama akan tampil adalah menu pilihan dimana anda dapat memilih ingin menjalankan movie atau slide show gambar. Dan ketika anda explore DVD tersebut dari komputer, maka akan ada folder tersendiri dengan nama Origpicts yang berisi gambar2 asli yang tadi telah anda buat menjadi slide show.

Mudah bukan ? Anda juga dapat menambahkan lagu pada slide shownya. Untuk yang satu ini, silakan anda ecplore.

Facebook blamed for sharp increase in underage marriage in G. Kidul

The Yogyakarta town of Gunung Kidul has reported a sharp increase in the number of underage marriages, which are said to be a result of the social networking phenomena, namely Facebook. 

“[Facebook] is easy to access, even in rural areas, and leads to teenage girls getting pregnant outside marriage,” Gunung Kidul Religious Court junior legal secretary Siti Haryanti said Thursday in Gunung Kidul.

“During trials, we’ve repeatedly asked underage couples whether they got acquainted via Facebook. And they admit [they did] and continued their relationships until [the girls] got pregnant,” she said.

Siti said there had been a “drastic” incease in the number of underage couples proposing to be wedded since the social networking site gained popularity in the town over the past two years.

This year alone, as of Thursday, 130 underage couples had submitted marriage proposals to the religious court — a 100 percent increase from last year, she said.

The 1974 Law on Marriage stipulates that a woman can only marry after they are 16 years old, and men must be at least 19 years old, Antara reported Thursday. (thejakartapost.com)

Mengerikan... Wahana Tornado di DUFAN mengalami kemacetan

Jakarta, 21 Juli 2011 - Pasti masyarakat Jakarta pernah pergi ke Dunia Fantasi Ancol dan menikmati berbagai wahana yang dapat membangkitkan adrenalin dan mengocok perut hingga terasa ingin mengeluarkan yang sudah kita makan sebelumnya. Tetapi, pernahkah membayangkan, ketika sedang menikmati salah satu wahana, tiba-tiba wahana tersebut macet/bermasalah/berhenti ketika sedang berada di ketinggian tertentu ? Nah inilah yang sempat terjadi di salah satu wahana di Dunia Fantasi kemarin tanggal 20 Juli 2011. 


Wahana Tornado, yang permainannya mengandalkan ketinggian untuk memacu adrenalin, tiba-tiba saja macet di ketinggian 4 meter. Hal ini sontak membuat orang yang sedang menaiki wahana tersebut terpacu adrenalinnya 2 kali lipat bahkan 5 kali lipat dari biasanya. Bagaimana tidak ? pada ketinggian 4 meter tersebut, tidak ada bantuan untuk dapat turun ke bawah. Memang pada akhirnya bantuan pun datang.

Akibatnya, sejumlah pengunjung yang sedang menaiki wahana permainan tersebut panik. Pengunjung akhirnya dievakuasi menggunakan tangga.

Menurut Kapolsek Pademangan Kompol Ahmad David kejadian tersebut terjadi sekira pukul 18.00 WIB. “Masalahnya mesin macet, sesuai prosedur pengamanan dilakukan evakuasi secara mekanis dan manual, tetapi yang dipilih akhirnya secara manual dengan menggunakan tangga,” kata Ahmad kepada okezone, Rabu (20/7/2011) malam.

Dikatakannya, jumlah penumpang sekitar 15 orang. “Mereka diturunkan dari ketinggian empat meter, mereka panik, tapi untungnya tak ada korban jiwa. Semua penumpang menggunakan alat pengamannya. Dan pengaman tersebut berfungsi dengan baik,” katanya.

Ahmad menuturkan saat ini sedang meneliti penyebab kerusakan tersebut. Sejauh ini belum ditemukan indikasi kesengajaan atau akibat kesalahan manusia. 

Insiden tersebut juga sempat tersebar luas melalui mikroblogging Twitter. "Ini gila Tornado Dufan macet jadi diselamatkan pakai tangga," ujar seorang pengguna Twitter yang berada di lokasi kejadian. 

Sex, Power, and Very Strange Habits

This is not his first such display of ingenuity. He has used a sheep's carcass as a sleeping bag, and crawled inside a dead camel for shelter in the past. It is quite the party trick. But were you ever stuck on a desert island with Bear, you would have to sleep with one eye open to make sure he didn't kill you and wear you as a frock.

Yet, despite his undoubted survival skills, I worry about Bear Grylls. I worry about him in a way that I don't about, say, Ray Mears, because I think Ray Mears couldn't give a camel's carcass about being an alpha male. But Bear seems so obsessed with proving his toughness, that he only ends up emasculating himself.

When I watch his desperate battles for survival in some of the least hospitable terrain on the planet, I don't think 'What an amazingly brave man'. I just think: 'WHY?'

I fret that Bear might one day fall victim to the Boy Who Cried Wolf Syndrome. He'll be in real danger, and the crew will just think he's doing his usual macho posturing, and off they will go, thinking 'you've made your bed in a sheep's skin - now you must lie in it'.

Nah. I'd rather take an under-achieving beta boy or a grateful gamma guy over an alpha male any day.

Do you know that Windows Phone 7 is not fit for tablet ?

One Microsoft executive said Windows Phone 7 (WP7) is an operating system (OS) specifically for smartphones and is not designed for tablets.

Speaking at the event Microsoft Worldwide Partners Conference, division president forthe Windows Phone Andy Lees believes that consumers want to do everything on a PCon a tablet.

"And we see as a tablet PC," he said as quoted from TG Daily, Thursday (07/14/2011).

Thus he said, running WP7 on tablets can cause 'conflict' with the preferences of consumers as well as Microsoft's mobile strategy. According to Lees, Windows 8 - which supports the ARM and x86 - expected to encourage the adoption of Microsoft'stablet in the near future.

Lees also said that PCs, tablets and mobile phones will eventually be together in an 'integrated ecosystem', as it echoed Steve Ballmer believes that Windows will be present in every device everywhere without compromise.

Although the future of WP7 is still unclear, some analysts speculated that the evolution ofthe OS will be gradually eliminated and replaced by a versatile Windows 8.

While other analysts from Gartner and IDC believes, WP7 combination with the Nokia device is very potential to be number two mobile platforms in the mobile market share in 2015.

Problem on Mail server --- Mail server could not connect to the internet

This morning around 10, suddenly the office email server is inaccessible from the outside. Staff who are outside can notconnect to webmail office. I initially thought because the traffic is being filled, so that all unused bandwidth resulting in slow access to webmail.

But after I checked, ping mailserver from outside, but the resultRTO. Then I try to check ping to the router from the mail server, the results are good. Then I try to ping from the router to the internet,were normal. Wow why this happened.

So I continued an intense checks on the mail server machine.Starting from checking MTA postfix, antivirus, configuration and allwere normal. Quite confusing too ... When I try to restart it with theNIC:
command: # / etc / init.d / networking restart all the results returned to normal.

Strange indeed ... because the machine is no problem to ping to anywhere except the internet. Grateful now back to normal.
